Men’s Medium-Length Parted Perm (Garma Perm) Styling Guide
SOMI HAIR KOREAN SALON JB
Hello everyone! 🙂 Today, I’d like to introduce a highly recommended style for men with medium-length hair: the Parted Perm (Garma Perm)
The Iconic Parted Perm
When it comes to the Parted Perm, Lee Dong-wook’s look in Tale of the Nine Tailed is legendary. Gong Yoo also made this style a massive sensation during his time in Goblin!
The key feature of a Parted Perm is a clean, defined part combined with natural waves that reveal the forehead for a fresh, open look. Usually, it is styled in a 5:5 or 6:4 ratio. You’d be surprised how much of a difference that tiny “one-notch” adjustment in the ratio can make!
Pro Tip: Aim for a forehead opening about the width of three to four fingers.
Instead of a heavy fringe that covers your face, this style creates a soft, gentle impression and a clean, sophisticated image.
How to Style & Maintain the Parted Perm
Styling a Parted Perm is actually very simple!
Drying: After shampooing, dry your hair in any direction until it is about 90% dry, leaving just a hint of moisture.
Shaping: Once dry, define your chosen part (5:5 or 6:4) and shape the waves.
The Sides: To keep the silhouette sleek, apply heat to the sides to press them down. If you get a “Down Perm” procedure at our salon, daily maintenance becomes even easier!
Finishing: Instead of a heavy hard wax, we recommend a soft gel or lightweight wax. To maintain that essential root volume all day, finish with a light mist of hair spray for the perfect hold.
Today, we took a deep dive into the Men’s Parted Perm. If you have any questions or want to achieve this look, feel free to leave a comment or visit us!
